The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) seeks a motivated Delivery Manager to join our Economy, Skills and Communities (ESC) directorate.
In this crucial role, you'll shape the future of our skills landscape. By analysing data and crafting effective sector plans, you'll connect residents with diverse pathways to good jobs, boost productivity, and fuel economic growth. Collaborating with our skills providers, you'll ensure training aligns with industry needs.
What will you be doing.
- Analyse skills needs and create sector-specific plans with diverse pathways for residents to secure good jobs
- Align skills training with key priorities like the WMCA's growth plan, filling critical skill gaps
- Collaborate with providers (colleges, trainers, universities) to deliver impactful training programs
- Guide providers in translating priorities into relevant curriculum updates
- Work with sector representatives, career services, and others to co-design effective training solutions
- Drive the execution of the WMCA's skills provider strategy
- Equip providers with valuable insights through workshops on data analysis, policy development, and collaboration
- Assess current provider capacity and expand the network through targeted market warming activities
- Leverage data and intelligence to advise colleagues on securing the most suitable skills provision
- Build trust and collaboration with diverse stakeholders across public, private, and voluntary sectors
- Support the ongoing development and implementation of a robust quality framework for skills provision
About you
- Proven experience in developing extensive stakeholder networks (in employment & skills, health & wellbeing, or business support)
- Strong partnership working and stakeholder influencing skills
- Expertise in planning and delivering public policy engagement activities
- Excellent communication skills, including web/social media proficiency and event facilitation experience
- Exceptional organisational skills and ability to prioritise under pressure

Salary and Benefits.
We advertise salary ranges for job roles, with new appointments typically starting at the lowest salary point. In exceptional cases, where higher skill levels or experience are applicable, the salary point may be adjusted to secure the best candidate. Location and Working Pattern - what you can expect.
The location for this role is Summer Lane, Birmingham. It is expected that you are able to split your time between the office and working remotely, with at least 2/3/ days spent in the office.
