Integrated Information Officer

As an Integrated Information Officer, your role will involve maintaining accurate and up-to-date bus route and timetable data within Transport for West Midlands’ (TfWM’s) systems, as well as overseeing the production and distribution of passenger information. This includes supporting digital, printed, and real-time platforms on behalf of TfWM, local authorities across the West Midlands, and bus operators. By providing reliable, accessible information, you will help meet customer needs and build trust and confidence in the service.

These are exciting times for the West Midlands as we look at bringing buses back under local control to improve the service for the travelling public. You will have the opportunity to support with the ambitious bus reform plan and support customers with planning their journeys effectively.

This diverse and dynamic role is perfect for someone seeking a challenge and wanting to deliver a great customer service. We’re looking for a proactive, collaborative team player with experience of the creation and management of data.

Please note that due to the nature of this role, there will be limited opportunities for hybrid working, in agreement with your line manager. There will also be occasional travel required to bus stops and stations across the West Midlands.

What you will be doing. 
  • Manage the accuracy and timeliness of bus data through close liaison with the Bus Services Team, data providers in West Midlands Shire regions and operators.
  • Keep multi-modal, multi-operator timetables, flags and interchange maps up-to-date and accurate at bus stops on behalf of operator partners.
  • Maintain the bus and tram stop register and associated geographic information for the West Midlands dataset
  • Produce and co-ordinate information for planned service disruption
  • Monitor real time information predictions and manage other information on Electronic Passenger Information screens, ensuring that it is available and provides useful information to customers
  • Analyse and validate passenger information costs related to the Roadside Recharging Scheme, to ensure timely and accurate invoicing to bus operators
  • Advise and support in the development of new information systems and products for digital and print media
  • Investigate and respond to customer relations queries relating to passenger information in a timely manner.

  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to review and manage large volumes of data and information.

The location for this role is 16 Summer Lane. Please note that due to the nature of this role, there will be limited opportunities for hybrid working, in agreement with your line manager.
