Marketing Executive

We’re looking for a new member to join our team, where you'll be delivering creative, outcome-focused communications across the region. 

Our dynamic and fast-paced Marketing Team is instrumental in raising awareness of the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) and Transport for West Midlands (TfWM), ensuring that the region understands our mission and services. We are seeking an experienced Marketing Executive to not only manage their own campaigns but to support the wider communications team to deliver the overarching communications strategy, that supports the priorities of the Mayor of the West Midlands. 

Our Directorates will rely on you to communicate their vision in an engaging way, to a range of audiences including residents, businesses, and partners. You will be managing campaigns across the WMCA and TfWM, that will make a real difference to the residents of the West Midlands. It will be your responsibility to build strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand their objectives, design, manage and support campaigns effectively, and identify innovative ways of captivating audiences.

We're in search of someone with 360 experience and a genuine passion for marketing, who’s proactive, detail oriented, with a commitment to making a real difference in the West Midlands. 

What you will be doing.
  • Plan and manage multi-channel marketing campaigns from creation to evaluation
  • Support the successful implementation of the marketing strategy and overarching strategic communications strategy for the organisation.
  • Act as a brand guardian for the organisation and ensure the identities for the WMCA, TfWM and associated brands are used appropriately. 
  • Monitor, optimise and evaluate marketing plans and campaigns. 
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, media agencies and publishers. 
What’s essential.
  • Prior experience in a marketing role 
  • Experience of using a range of marketing methods to support the delivery of successful marketing campaigns. 
  • Experience of using research and insight to monitor, optimise and evaluate the outcomes of marketing campaigns.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing creative marketing concepts 
  • An understanding of communicating across different channels and to different audiences to encourage behaviour change
  • Excellent written skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to organise, prioritise and deliver a demanding workload.
  • Enthusiasm and a high degree of initiative and motivation

Salary and benefits.
We advertise salary ranges for job roles, with new appointments typically starting at the lowest salary point. In exceptional cases, where higher skill levels or experience are applicable, the salary point may be adjusted to secure the best candidate. This approach allows for potential year-on-year salary increases, offering progression and appropriate rewards to employees. Requests for salaries above the maximum advertised range will not be considered.

Hybrid working and location. 
We believe hybrid working is the best way for our organisation to fulfil our commitment to a modern, agile workplace while continuing to provide a great service to our customers. Hybrid working means having flexibility between working in the office and at home on agreed days, where a role allows. 

The location for this role is 16 Summer Lane. It is expected that you can split your time between the office and working remotely, with at least 2 days a week spent in the office. Please note, this is the minimum expectation.
