We’re seeking a Programme Officer to make sure the WMIZ programme runs smoothly. In this role, you’ll contribute to every stage of programme’s ongoing development and delivery, ensuring they meet time, budget, and quality standards. You’ll also play a critical role in preparing reports, promoting the WMIZ and liaising with our partners and stakeholders.
What you will be doing.
- Supporting the end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring they align with strategic priorities.
- Preparing and submitting documentation for internal and external assurance processes.
- Gathering and analysing data to support reporting.
- Ensuring compliance with funding requirements and validating expenditure.
- Monitoring wider policy opportunities and reporting on these to the WMIZ team.
- Collaborating with stakeholders – ensuring they feel fully engaged in the programme and are able to make a tangible impact.
- Liaising effectively with Comms teams (internally and externally) to identify appropriate opportunities for WMIZ promotion and messaging.
What’s essential.
Proven experience supporting and coordinating programmes or projects.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative approach.
Knowledge of government policy and/or funding streams, particularly in areas such as skills, employment, and economic development.
Advanced proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with a strong eye for detail.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
- Experience in reporting, data analysis, and creating detailed project documentation.

We advertise salary ranges for job roles, with new appointments typically starting at the lowest salary point. Hybrid working and location.

The location for this role is Summer Lane, Birmingham It is expected that you can split your time between the office and working remotely, with at least 2 days a week spent in the office. Please note, this is the minimum expectation.
