Senior Future Mobility Developer

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) is at the forefront of pioneering Future Transport initiatives, dedicated to cultivating a vibrant and sustainable environment in the West Midlands. Our dynamic Future Transport team is currently in search of a Senior Future Mobility Developer, with a primary focus on advancing "Mobility as a Service" (MaaS). TfWM is at the forefront of MaaS developments globally, having first trialled a system in 2018, being a critical part of MaaS alliance, MaaS Scotland events and ITS (UK)’s MaaS forum; as well as attending ITS World Congress and sharing our learnings across the world.

MaaS is a term used to describe digital transport service platforms that enable users to access, pay for, and get real-time information on a range of public and private transport options in one place. To us, this means our users have one app, one account, and endless opportunities at their fingertips to travel across the region and beyond in a seamless, simplified and tailored way. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering this experience through the new TfWM app, while being seamlessly integrated with our Smart Ticketing offer - Swift.

Working in close collaboration with suppliers, transport providers, local authorities, industry stakeholders and the broader TfWM team, you will drive forward the project, ensuring its smooth progression. Your role will entail overseeing the efficient execution of tasks, actively tracking action points, and providing crucial support for the ongoing evolution of this pivotal initiative.

You'll be responsible for ensuring the MaaS programme is not only effective but also aligned with our goals of promoting active and sustainable travel solutions. Additionally, you'll champion accessibility and inclusivity for all users, ensuring that our services are accessible to everyone. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a niche programme that not only aligns with the UK's ambitious net-zero targets but also enhances access to healthcare and employment and provides the traveling public with increased freedom and flexibility in their choice of transportation methods.

We're seeking an individual with a knack for fostering effective relationships, possessing exceptional communication skills, motivation, and a genuine passion for driving behaviour change. You will be a strong project leader focused on quality delivery and outcomes and be experienced in defining scope. It is essential for you to be self-starting, flexible, collaborative, and be able to work under pressure. You will be supported by an experienced team, who continue to deliver a number of high-profile projects and products in the West Midlands region. With your leadership, this innovative and proactive team could deliver even more!
